The Philips NourishCare Straightener is claimed to be India's No. 1 Hair Straightener, exclusively designed to style and nourish your hair with no heat damage.

Please refer to the ingredient information on the packaging.

Once opened, one pair of serum strips is intended for one styling session only. Please use the serum strips within 1 day of opening and dispose of the used serum strips after each styling session.

Please refer to Philips's official website for more information.

No, do not add your serum or oils to the serum strips for use. Philips' nourishing serum strips are specially designed to be used only with Philips Nourish Care Hair Straighteners (BHS522, BHS503, BHS526, and BHS507). Do not use other serums or oils with these straighteners. The serum strip is intended for one styling session only. Please dispose of the used serum strips after one styling session.

No, Philips' nourishing serum strips and attachment brackets are made specifically only for Philips Nourish Care Hair Straighteners (BHS522, BHS503, BHS526, BHS507) and no others. If you attempt to use any other strips, please discontinue use and refrain from using them in the future.

No, do not use any other wet products on your hair before using Philips' NourishCare Straightener. The provided serum strips nourish the hair and protect it from heat.

Stop using the product immediately and rinse thoroughly if you experience an allergic reaction such as redness or itching.

If the serum comes into contact with your eyes, rinse them immediately. Wash your hands after touching the serum, and avoid rubbing it into your eyes or mouth.

Clean the straightener regularly with a damp cloth. To clean the brackets, remove them from the device and wash them under running water with soap or shampoo. Use a toothbrush to clean any serum from the slot. Allow the brackets to dry completely before reattaching them to the straightener.

One pair of serum strips is intended for one styling session only. Please dispose of the used serum strips in the bin after each styling session.

At Philips, we care about the environment and society at large. Therefore, all Philips haircare products sold are asbestos-free.

We do not recommend winding the cord around your Philips Straightener, as this may damage the cord. After using your hair straightener, wait for it to cool down and wind the cord separately, as shown in the image below.

The serum strips will not fall off if inserted properly. Please check if you have inserted them into the slots on the brackets with the correct orientation.

If you get a burning or chemical-like smell while using your Philips Hair Dryer or Straightener, check our troubleshooting advice to solve this issue.

First-time use
Some styling devices, like hairdryers and straighteners, produce a strange smell when used for the first time. There is nothing to worry about, and this smell usually fades away after a few uses. To minimize this smell, try styling your hair in a well-ventilated room or keeping a nearby window open.

Hair straightener is dirty
Another reason for your hair styler to produce a burning smell might be that it is dirty. If there are some dust particles or residue accumulated on your straightener or hair dryer, they might burn due to the high temperature of the device and start smelling.
To solve this issue, clean your styling device properly before each use. For specific instructions on how to clean your Philips Hair Straightener please refer to your user manual.
If the advice above does not solve your issue, please contact us for further support.

If you are having trouble turning on your Philips Hair Straightener, please read our troubleshooting advice below to solve this issue.

Device is unplugged
Before turning on your hair straightener, make sure it is connected to a working electric socket. To check if the electric socket is working, you can try plugging in a different device and see if it works.

Electricity voltage is unsuitable
Make sure that the voltage of the electric socket is suitable for your hair straightener. To find out more information about which voltage is suitable for your device, refer to your user manual.

The cord might be damaged
If your hair straightener is still not turning on, it could be that its cord is damaged. In this case please contact us for further help.

If you see some steam coming out of your hair while using your Philips Hair Straightener or some water residue is accumulating from the tool, don't worry. The product is still safe to use. You can look at the reasons below to find out why this may happen.

Using the hair straightener on wet hair
If you try straightening or curling wet hair, you will see a lot of steam coming out of your hair. We advise you to use your Philips hair straighteners and curlers on dry hair for the best results. This is also the best choice for your hair.

High temperature setting
Your hair straightener needs to be very hot in order to reshape your hair. This can result in some moisture from your hair evaporating and turning into steam. However, this is naturally replaced by the moisture in the air.
Always use the recommended temperature for your hair styler.

Water residue on the device
While some moisture may be evaporated into steam, some can turn into water residue and be seen on the device while using it. This residue disappears after a while.
If you still don't feel comfortable with the level of steam coming out of your hair using a Philips Hair Straightener, then please contact us for further support.

Not using the serum strips in the recommended direction.
When placing the selected hair strand between the straightening plates, please ensure the
strips are facing down towards the hair ends while you slide the straightener down. This ensures that heat protection is maximized and that your hair remains healthy and undamaged.

If your Philips Hair Straightener is making a sizzling sound, then do not worry. Read on for our explanation to help understand this behavior.

The ION function is on
Your Philips Straightener is equipped with special ION functionality to provide frizz-free, smooth hair. When this function is on, it is normal to hear a sizzling sound coming from your straightener. You may also get a strange smell. However, this is nothing to worry about. The straightener is still safe to use.

If you are not happy with the results of your Philips Hair Straightener, please follow our troubleshooting advice below to solve this issue yourself.

Styling too much hair
It could be that you are taking a thick hair section to straighten. This will affect the quality of straightening, and you may need to repeat the process a few times. Try taking a small section of hair, not more than 5 to 6 cm wide to straighten your hair in one attempt.

Straightening wet or damp hair
Always dry your hair first before straightening your hair. Straightening wet or damp hair not only can damage your hair, but it will also not give you the best-desired results.

Not applying enough pressure
Another tip to get the best results from your hair straightener is to apply enough pressure. Make sure your hair is tightly pressed between the plates of your straightener.

Moving the straightener too quickly
Straightening requires a bit of patience. When sliding down the hair straightener, move it gently and slowly.
If you are still not happy with the results of your Philips Hair Straightener then please contact us for further support.

Turning on the ION functionality on your Philips Hair Styler or Straightener generates negative ions which neutralize positive ions in the atmosphere. This neutralization process seals the hair cuticles and helps reduce frizz and static. As a result, you get frizz-free, smooth, and shiny hair.

If you would like to know whether you can use your Philips Curler or Hair Straightener on wet hair, find out your answer here.

Styling wet or damp hair
We recommend using your Philips Hair Straightener on dry hair. This is because wet hair is more susceptible to damage when styled at high temperatures. Straightening wet hair will not produce the desired results and will only damage your hair.
Further, you also run the risk of getting an electric shock if you try to use electric products on wet hair. For further instructions and warnings for using your Philips Hair Straightener, please refer to your user manual or contact us.

Depending on your hair styling device, you may find the model and serial number in different locations on your hair care device. Model numbers for Philips hair straighteners usually start with BH, followed by a number. The serial number has four digits in the format of YYWW (year and week).
