The battery life of your Sonicare toothbrush depends on how often and how long you brush. Based on a two minute brushing session twice per day, the battery will last at least two to three weeks with a full charge
Your Sonicare toothbrush measures the pressure you apply while brushing to protect your gums and teeth. If you apply too much pressure, the handle will change its vibration. The feedback light at the toothbrush base will flash purple or the brush head reminder light will blink until you reduce the pressure.
Resetting the pressure sensor settings
If you are unsatisfied with the pressure sensor settings, it is possible to re-calibrate them. To do so, follow the steps below:
- Ensure the charger is plugged into an outlet. Remove and place the handle on the charger for at least 45 seconds.
- Remove your handle from the charger. Repeat this step four additional times.

Cleaning your toothbrush and brush heads regularly improves their lifespan and performance. Clean your toothbrush after use by rinsing your brush head and bristles. Wipe the handle with a damp cloth.
You can sanitize your toothbrush head daily using the Philips Sonicare UV Brush Head Sanitizer, which removes 99% of all bacteria from your brush heads.
We recommend carrying out a detailed weekly cleaning session. Just follow the easy steps below:
- Remove the brush head.
- Rinse the bottom of the brush head with warm water.
- Rinse the metal shaft area with warm water.
- Clean the bottom of the toothbrush handle with a damp cotton swab to remove any residue.
- Wipe the entire surface of the handle with a wet cloth.
Never use the dishwasher to clean your toothbrush or any of its accessories. Do not puncture the rubber seal around the metal shaft as this may cause water damage.
