Cleaning the precision foil
The precision shaving foil is very delicate. Avoid using cleaning tools such as brushes, towels or chemical liquids which can cause early visual wear. Do not tap your foil on a hard surface like the sink to clean or dry it. This can damage the device.
After every use remove any hair accumulated on the foil. Clean the foil by rinsing it under the tap. Safely store your product and protect the foil from outside pressure or impacts by attaching a cap or comb.
If the foil becomes damaged, replace immediately. Do not continue using the appliance.
If you are curious about how safe it is to use a shaving foil on your body, please see the information below.
All Philips products consisting of a shaving foil are skin friendly. Philips is not a dermatological authority and cannot give skin, hair, or nail advice on individual cases.
Before using a Philips product with a shaving foil, it is good practice to visually check the device to ensure the shaving foil is still intact. To minimize the wear of the foil, safely store your product and protect the foil from outside pressure or impacts by attaching a cap or comb. Replace the foil immediately when it is damaged, via our webshop or your local Consumer Care.
You can use the shaving foil to trim and shave your body hair below the neckline, for example armpits, arms, legs and bikini or pubic area (with a trimming comb). When using the shaving head or trimmer in the intimate area (the outside and inside of outer labia), ensure you attach the trimming comb to the shaving head. We do not recommend using it on your face or head, because you will not get desired results, and it may also damage your skin.
Some products come with additional attachments to use on sensitive areas, like your pubic region. You can find more information about using these attachments this in your user manual or can contact us.
If you are still unsure of using Philips devices with a shaving foil, please consult your physician or healthcare professional who can examine whether your skin is suitable for this type of hair removal device.
After care
If you are a first-time user or have very sensitive skin, a little bit of irritation is possible and nothing to worry about. This goes away with time. We recommend applying a mild and alcohol-free moisturizing cream after shaving. If the irritation lasts longer than 3 days, then please consult your doctor.
The model and serial number of your Philips Epilator, Lady Shaver, Trimmer or Facial Hair Remover is printed on the back of the handle of the device. It can also be found inside the battery compartment for products that run on replaceable AA batteries.
The model number is often needed when registering your product or when looking for information about your specific model. This starts with the letters BRE, BRL or BRR followed by three digits or HP followed by four digits.
The serial number is printed below the model number. This is used to identify the production date of your product and is in the format YYWW.

Instructions to use
Wet or dry use
Some of our Bikini Trimmers can be used both wet and dry. If you want to trim wet, make sure that your Bikini Trimmer is suitable for that. Check if a shower or bathtub symbol is printed on the back of your device. Then it is safe to be used with water.
When using wet, make sure your skin is completely wet with water.
Be mindful that trimming wet hair is a bit tricky, as wet hair tend to stick to your skin and are difficult to remove. We recommend trying out both wet and dry trimming and see what works best for you.
For washable products, clean the trimming head with running water from time to time during use. Also clean the appliance with running water after use and let all parts dry before you store them.
For non washable trimmers, you can blow off the hair on the trimmer or use the cleaning brush supplied to clean the device.
